Teeth: 11
Clothes: 18 months, but our options are becoming limited.
Diapers: Size 5-Huggies Slip-Ons are making our changes easier these days.
New Vocabulary Words: "Done", "No"(luckily he only repeats that one, he has not learned to use it at will), "Gur-key" (Turkey), "Dede", "Sadie" (Our friend Miss Sadie Chavers-he's repeated her name a few times), "Fan", "Liieee" (Light), "Goo-kie" (Cookie), "Cheeesssee" and he says two syllables after Mommy sneezes, I think they are "Bless You" :)
Animal Sounds: Sheep, Cow, Doggie, Kitty, Duck, SNAKE (that little "hissssss" is my new favorite), Monkey, Horse (50/50)
Can Idenitfy: Tummy, Foot, Nose, Mouth, Tongue, Ears, Eyes (75% of the time), Hands (50/50)
Mobility: Walking up to 10 steps if you get him balanced and give him someone to walk to. He will cruise and take 3-5 steps on his own several times a day. I'm still waiting for the day *(soon)* that he becomes a "walker". He loves all of his push toys (including the dogs) and they have a zillion miles on them in the few weeks since his birthday.
More fun: Jay can really "play" with lots of toys now the way they were meant to be played. He uses a shape sorter and tries all of the various options until he gets it right. He knows that blocks are for building and knocking over, not just shaking and throwing. He rolls trucks and cars while making VROOM sounds. He attempts to put Little People in the barn with the animals instead of blocks and balls. It is really fascinating to see how much he learns in a week or even a day.
Any toy or video (there are many) that play the tune "If You're Happy and You Know It.." will make Jay stop whatever he is doing and clap his hands along at the right time. He gets the biggest grin and looks to make sure I'm watching and it makes me SO proud.
He knows "Pat-a-Cake" and parts of the "Itsy-Bitsy Spider"...all of this is almost unbelievable and he knew none of it a month ago.
He's
he wants to look at the preview window on the back and say "Jay" over and over. Goofball.
We have so much fun together these days. I'm so thankful, honored and humbled that I get to be his Mommy all day, every day. I just hope he's as proud of me as I am of him.
