Boo at the Zoo and More

Boo!

How sweet is Lizzy in this little girlie ghost outfit? (excuse the boo-boo by her eye. those nails are outta control.)

We did Boo at the Zoo with our buddies Sadie and Colin last night!

Mickey, 2 Minnies and Billy the Exterminator. Loads of fun!

And today Mommy and kiddos decorated our pumpkins!

And yes, this year I am forgoing our ban of all things orange and letting the pumpkins remain their natural colors. Its for the kids. I am soooooo tempted to paint the dino green and the princess white, but I am trying to just "let it be". :)

P.S. I  linked this post to Kelly's Korner-so if you're stopping in from SUYL--Thanks for visiting!! Happy Halloween!

Lizzy 6 month status

This is a late one...but I wanted to make sure I documented Lizzy at 6 months, since she's now just over 7 months. Perhaps I'll get caught up on all of these posts by Christmas...

19 pounds, 7 ounces
27 and 3/4 inches long

She got her first tooth on September 9 and her second tooth on September 14. She has begun scooching, but not officially crawling and makes vowels sounds but no "da" "ba" or "ma" sounds yet.

She's eating in the highchair 2, sometimes three times a day and usually taking 4 bottles. She never takes a full bottle though. Usually 6 ounces or less these days.

Sleeping well, but she has had a few spells of waking in the night and singing or jabbering. No crying, not getting up to eat--just awake and happy about it.

**these photos were taken at 6.5 months, the day after we moved into New House. I was so late in getting them-it was sort of "now or never"--Jay was napping and I had a few moments to capture her at this age. Sorry there's not much to look at in the background, but its an accurate picture of our life at the time.**

Pumpkin Picking

Today we visited the Pumpkin Patch at Shadow Lake for some good ol' sweaty fall fun.

We went with Jenn, Davis, Weston and Weston's buddy Max. It was totally bonkers in the car, but a very fun trip. Jenn and I definitely need to remind the kids of days like this when they're older and we want to guilt them about all of the things we've done for them over the years. It was a fun, silly, windy labor of love and I know all of the kids had fun so it was all completely worth it.

We picked Weston qand Max up from their half day at school, headed to CFA for lunch (but ate in the car in the interest of time and the CFA was jam-packed, so we decided it would be best for this crew to stay in the car) then on to Shadow Lake. We got there about 1 and they closed at 2 but we avoided the school groups that way and had a fun hour without the crowds and lines we would've had by going earlier in the day. It was perfect timing.

And now for the pics------

**Editor's Note: there was a stop for much-needed Diet Cokes for the mommies right after this photo was taken.

Busy B's

We have been busy, busy, busy the last few weeks. Here is a brief blurb about some of our happenings.

Boxes, Boxes, Boxes!
We moved into NEW HOUSE! I tried to keep the camera handy on moving day(s) to take some pics of the process of moving with a 2 and 1/4 year old and a 6 month old. Turns out, it ain't pretty and this was the only photo I took. Lizzy taking her evening nap in the stroller as we (joseph, jay, dede, jenn, jorge, joaquin, gustav and myself) tried with all of our might to get things all moved in for our first night at new house (October 2).
We continue to unpack.

BEACH!

4 days after moving into our house (that we'd been dreaming of for 11 months) we went to the beach. Genius, I know. But it was much needed and a great getaway with Charles, Karla, Kelsey and CJ. Lizzy's very first trip to the beach and Jay's second. Everything was great!!

Bulldogs...

We came home to two sick bullies. Both with ear infections and Gus has a cough and a runny nose. Seriously, as if I haven't got enough going on and other noses to wipe--I'm following a 70 pound bulldog around with a boogie wipe! They're both on the mend, never fear.

Big Boy

Jay has basically completed potty training himself. (sigh) I really don't think I can avoid it any longer, he's been wearing undies at home for weeks with no accidents, so this week I let him wear them when we ran errands too. No accidents. Today he even went diaper-free at school and (again) no accidents. No #2 in the potty yet, but we're close. (toot-toot-toot).((this was the note I sent to Mrs. Beth as a warning. This is how we communicate at our school--notes clipped to his tote bag--I think its highly effective and ensures you keep it brief.))

Bonkers!

We totally love lots of things about our new neighborhood-not the least of which is our Western Market. (where.they.have.these.tiny.carts.) So, today after school was Jay's first visit, he immediately spotted them.  We only needed three things so I decided to go for it--I carried Lizzy and Jay did the shopping. Let's say we got more than the three things we needed and every soul in the store knew Jay's name by the time we made it to the checkout because they heard me correcting guiding his shopping the whole way. Clearly, I've gone bonkers.

Bama!

We took the kids to the condo for the afternoon before the Ole Miss game. We left T-town before kickoff, but Jay thinks that we went to the game. :) Soon, little fella, soon you'll know.

Boo!

Halloween is upon us and I took the kids to the Fall Festival at Mountain Chapel Methodist last weekend (yes, the day after we returned from the beach). Jay had a blast jumping, sliding, and playing games. More fall fun to come! How cute are these SheSheMade outfits?!?!?! Be still my heart.

****I promise to post more details about all of these events soon, along with a tour of New House for those who want to see and are asking. But now I must try to tackle a few more to-do's for today and continue our quest to get settled in. Thanks for keeping up and catching up with us!!****

Super Snacker

Jay's learned the art of dunking his doughnut. My job is done.

Yummmm.
